In 1985, RX Surgi-Sharp Co., Inc. was established in order to provide the local medical community with a fast and reliable surgical sharpening service. Although designed to provide a sharpening and instrument maintenance service, it was realized that our clients in upstate New York desired quality medical products and equipment as well.

In 1989, the name of the company was changed to Empire Medical Products to reflect the highly specialized products and companies that were represented. To continue the success through the mid 90's, Empire Medical affiliated itself with progressive and innovative manufacturers who were able to utilize our service for their growth and success.
